Angelina Jolie Opens Up About Working With Son Maddox
Angelina Jolie has opened up about working with her and ex Brad Pitt's son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt.
Jolie directed the film "First They Killed My Father," which her son, Maddox, 16, executive produced. Talking about her experience teaming up with her son for a film project, the "Maleficent" star has nothing but praise for Maddox and his work ethic. "I can never rate my own child, but I couldn't have made it without him and I cannot say that about every producer I've worked with," Jolie told E! News about her son.
On Sunday, Jolie graced the red carpet of Toronto Film Festival with her kids to support "The Breadwinner," which she executive produced. The "Changeling" star looked gorgeous in her off-white, silk coordinated set. She styled her brunette locks into a glamorous side part and accessorized with hoop earrings and a solitary diamond ring.
Jolie's kids -- Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 9 -- were with her. Maddox was not photographed during the event, so it is not clear if he was also in attendance.
The following day, Jolie made the premiere of her Netflix film, "First They Killed My Father," at the Toronto International Film Festival another family affair. The "Salt" star walked the red carpet with all her children this time, however, as Maddox was spotted with his brothers and sisters, CNN reported.
Jolie has been focusing on her children since filing for divorce from Pitt. "My focus is my children, our children ... and my focus is finding this way through," she said in February. "As I said, we are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
Jolie has taken a year off from acting to be with her kids following her controversial split from her estranged husband last year. However, the actress is now ready to star in another film. In fact, her next project might be the sequel of Walt Disney Picture's "Maleficent."
"I've taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids," Jolie said. "When I feel it's time for me to go back to work, I'll be able to go back to work. I've been needed at home. I hope [to work again] in the months to come."
