Angelina Jolie: A Strong Woman Will Always Have Her Soft Spot
Angelina Jolie is one tough woman, yes. But no matter how tough a person —man or woman— is, he or she will always have a spot. As for Jolie, the “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” actress just revealed what softens her heart.
Jolie has proven her strength over time. She did that and continuously doing it in her career. Working in the entertainment industry is no joke and people know that. It isn’t just fame and glamour. Without talent, guts and strong will, one will not survive Hollywood. But Jolie? She’s been working as an actress in the industry for decades. She faced a lot of criticisms (good and bad), controversies and rumors. Even her private life isn’t that “private” at all.
People saw how strong she was in the roles she played. To name a few, Jolie played the tough lead characters in the movies, “Wanted,” “Tomb Raider” and “Salt.” It isn’t just in the movies but in real life too. The latest challenge she faced was her divorce from Brad Pitt, with whom she shared 6 kids. Despite that strong persona, Jolie always has a soft spot for her children.
Jolie said during the “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” premiere in London, on Sept. 10, that a mother should —referring to her willingness— put her child before her, Sioux City Journal reported. Jolie reportedly admitted that she wanted to become good mom but the idea of being a perfect person to become a perfect mother was not entirely true.
Jolie’s toughness, especially with regard to her children, is reportedly coming from a place of wanting to protect them. As mother, she wanted to keep her children safe.
“.. so protection is probably where I am the most,” she said.
Jolie’s soft spot for her kids was evident when she dropped her eldest son, Maddox, in Yonsei University. There had been reports as well of Jolie admitting to being emotional when she got back from South Korea.
Amid the chaotic world of Hollywood and her personal struggle when her marriage with Pitt ended, Jolie had got strength and inspiration from her children. Nowadays, Jolie’s mostly photographed hanging out and spending quality time with her children, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Viviene and Knox.
Jolie’s family has always been her priority. In an article published in the Philippine Star, Boy Abunda, Filipino television host and publicist, asked Jolie during an interview if there’s anything more powerful than love.
“Family,” she replied.
