Angelina Jolie’s Ex Val Kilmer Says She’s ‘Like Other Women, Superstars But Just More’

Angelina Jolie’s ex, Val Kilmer, has opened about their past relationship.

Prior to marrying Pitt, the ”Maleficent” actress was romantically involved with her “Alexander” co-star. The two carried on a brief romance in 2004 after their movie came out.

Kilmer opens up about his romance with Jolie in his upcoming memoir, “I’m Your Huckleberry.” In Touch obtained some excerpts of the book where the “Top Gun“ star expressed his strong feelings toward the 44-year-old actress.

“I was rescued from an icy inferno of solitude by another angel,” Kilmer wrote. “Perhaps the most soulful and serious of them all. Angelina.”

He also shared how people would ask him about the “Eternals” star. According to him, Brad Pitt’s ex-wife is just like other women, but more.

“When people ask me what Angelina is like, I always say she’s like other women and other superstars, but just more,” the 60-year-old star continued. “More gorgeous. More wise. More tragic. More magic. More grounded. Is it worth it? Worth knowing people who require weeks of effort to understand even a little? Yes.”

Kilmer also recalled how it was filming with Jolie on the set of Oliver Stone’s movie “Alexander.” It was where they met and sparked dating rumors soon after.

“I told Oliver I’d only do it if the king and queen could have flashbacks to falling hard for each other and storming the castle with passion, before turning against each other. I was only half kidding. He didn’t pick up on the humor,” he continued.

According to Kilmer, he couldn’t wait to rehearse with Jolie and he couldn’t wait to kiss her. Aside from recalling their experiences on set, he also shared that they developed a friendship. In fact, he was around when Jolie’s mom was losing her battle with cancer because he lived in the same hotel where they stayed.

Jolie and Kilmer’s romance was short lived because in the summer of 2004, Jolie met Pitt on set for their spy thriller “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” The two reportedly fell in love while they were filming. In 2005, Aniston filed for divorce from the “Ad Astra” star.

In a past interview, Jolie boasted about getting excited while filming with Pitt, who was still married with Aniston at the time. The “Murder Mystery” actress reiterated and called Jolie “uncool” for saying those things which she felt was “inappropriate.”
