Angry Groom Slaps Newlywed Wife After Losing Game At Their Wedding [Video]
A newlywed wife in Uzbekistan was brutally struck by her angry groom after the man lost a game the couple played at their wedding reception. The viral video of the incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many criticizing the violent groom and the passive onlookers who just stood by watching the assault.
A viewer shared the shocking video of abuse on Twitter on Monday and the footage has fetched more than 1 Million views since then. "In Uzbekistan, a groom hit the bride right at the wedding in front of guests, relatives, and families from both sides. Noone stopped him, no one to defend her," the user captioned the video.
The 30-second clip begins by showing the bride in her wedding dress standing by her beloved on a stage as the couple plays an unknown game. The bride soon raises her hand to signal that she has won the game. When the crowd appears to cheer the bride, the groom raises his left hand and brutally strikes his wife once on the head.
The video then shows the groom’s best man grinning and taking a glance at his phone, while the bride's maid of honor and another woman help her off the stage, NY Post reported.
After the video was shared on Twitter many viewers came in support of the bride, advising her to leave the relationship before it gets worse.
"The start of a new family … Day One of marital bliss. I hope she has the sense to leave his sorry a– because it just gets worse from here," a viewer wrote.
Besides criticizing the husband's violent reaction, many people expressed their shock at the reaction of the audience, who just stood silently watching the assault without attempting to intervene.
"Check out best friend grinning after the punch...People see violence against women and girls as an unfortunate, awkward, but integral part of customs, tradition, and culture. Something sad but unavoidable & therefore normal. It's not seen as the world's most widespread human rights abuse," a viewer commented.
Some people also wrote that they could very well picture how the relatives of the bride would come in support of the man, normalizing the abuse, saying these things happen in any family.
Meanwhile, some others opined that the woman should have stood for herself and defended the assault. "Too bad the girl didn’t hit back," a person tweeted.
