‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 7 Synopsis; Watch ‘Low Man’ Promo
The Cody family is in for a dangerous ride on “Animal Kingdom” Season 3, episode 7. As J deals with a major fall out with Smurf, Deran will attempt to show he is capable of doing more than just grunt work.
“Deran (Jake Weary) leads the charge in planning the weed heist,” the synopsis for “Low Man” teases. In the previous episode of the TNT series, Billy (Denis Leary) spent a lot of time convincing Deran he could plan out a job on his own and bring in others to successfully pull it off.
From the looks of the “Animal Kingdom” Season 3, episode 7 promo video, it appears Deran gained some confidence and decided to take his father’s advice. In the video, Deran reveals the family stands to make $600,000 from the weed heist, but Pope (Shawn Hatosy) appears cautious because they could all do time if the plan goes south.
When Craig (Ben Robson) becomes concerned J (Finn Cole) isn’t there to oversee the heist, Billy assures him they don’t need the teen to pull off the job. Is Billy setting the Cody boys up for failure, or will his plan actually work?
“Lucy (Carolina Guerra) calls Pope down to Mexico for some intel on Baz’s (Scott Speedman) murder,” the synopsis for “Low Man” says. In a sneak-peek video from the TNT series, Lucy takes Pope to meet a man who heard, “a rich white lady” hired someone to kill her son because he stole from her.
The guy reveals the people he heard talking about the hit was the same gang that is being paid to keep Smurf safe in prison. Viewers are already aware Mia (Sohvi Rodriguez) killed Baz, but it is unclear if Pope will actually believe this story and further investigate his brother’s murder.
“J reaches a breaking point with Smurf (Ellen Barkin),” the synopsis states. In the promo video, J tells Smurf she isn’t his problem anymore. She later appears with a black eye and warns him to watch himself.
The teen has been growing tired of being his grandmother’s errand boy, and it looks like he will no longer allow her to boss him around. Seeing as Smurf has a black eye, J could have stopped paying the gang to protect her on the inside, which means anyone could have attacked the Cody matriarch. Furious about her grandson’s betrayal, will J be the next target on Smurf’s hit list?
“Craig learns more about Billy’s girlfriend Frankie (Dichen Lachman),” the synopsis tease. Both Smurf and Pope have been clear they don’t want Billy anywhere near the family, but Craig is still on the fence when it comes to his little brother’s father and his hippie girlfriend.
Although not much is know about the free-spirited Frankie, it appears Craig will do some digging to find out about the woman staying in his mother’s home.
“Animal Kingdom” Season 3, episode 7 airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
