Another ‘Vampire Diaries’ Romance? Paul Wesley Dating ‘The Originals’ Actress Phoebe Tonkin Following Divorce
Love is in the air on the CW network. Just two months after announcing his split from his wife Torrey Devitto, “The Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley, 31, has reportedly started dating his former co-star, “The Originals” actress Phoebe Tonkin, 24.
According to a report from Us Weekly Thursday, the rumored twosome made their newfound romance public during a date to New York's Soho House Saturday. An eyewitness claims the acting duo's outing included the company of fellow actors, Ben McKenzie of “Southland“ fame and Shelley Henning of Tonkin’s former series “The Secret Circle.” “It looked like Paul and Phoebe might have set Ben up with Shelley,” a source told the magazine, adding, “[It] seemed like a first date.”
Despite the date being the duo's alleged first official outing, the pair, who starred alongside one another during season four of the supernatural drama series “The Vampire Diaries,” reportedly weren’t afraid about publicly showing affection toward one another. “Paul and Phoebe were 100% romantic,” said a source. “They were across the table from Ben all cozied up on the couch kissing each other [and] she had her head on his chest."
Wesley’s rumored new romance comes just two months after he announced his split from his wife of two years, former star of “The Vampire Diaries” and “Pretty Little Liars” actress Torrey Devitto. “[They] have decided to amicably split,” a rep for the actor confirmed to People magazine in July, adding, “They will continue to remain good friends.”
While Wesley and Devitto tragically called their relationship quits they're not the only “Vampire Diaries” couple to call it quits. Two leads in the series, actors Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, famously ended their three year relationship earlier this year. A mutual friend of the couple, MTV “Teen Wolf” actor Colton Haynes confirmed the split to Entertainmentwise in June. While Somerhalder, 34, has yet to officially move on, Dobrev reportedly recently started seeing “Dancing with the Stars” professional Derek Hough.
Season five of “The Vampire Diaries” airs Thursday, Oct. 3rd at 8 p.m. ET. The new CW series, “The Originals,” will follow with its series premiere episode airing Oct. 3rd at 9 p.m. ET.
