Ansel Elgort, Violetta Komyshan Break Up Over ‘Insurgent’ Actors’ Busy Schedule
Ansel Elgort’s relationship with high school sweetheart Violetta Komyshan has officially taken a backseat to his blossoming film career. The 20-year-old actor and the ballerina called their relationship quits after two years together, according to Us Weekly.
Elgort’s two break out roles in “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Divergent" this year, and his increasingly demanding work schedule are said to blame for the couple's "amicable" split, a source close to Elgort said. “They tried to navigate his commitments,” an insider told Us Weekly. “But between filming and press for the movies [it got difficult].”
The actor recently took a break from filming “Insurgent” -- the sequel to "Divergent" -- to discuss his busy filming schedule and his just-wrapped project, “Men, Women and Children,” which is set to hit theaters in October.
“It’s been a really amazing year for sure. This is what I love to do and it is all working out and it is amazing,” Elgort said during an appearance last week on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “I missed [high school] graduation [to do] my first movie ‘Carrie’ and then I went to ‘Divergent’, ‘Fault in Our Stars,’ and then this movie, ‘Men Women and Children.'"
Elgort was seen with Komyshan in June at the Valentino show for Paris Menswear Fashion Week. They were photographed smiling and walking arm-in-arm leaving the event. “Violetta was extremely excited to go to Paris,” a source told Us Weekly of the couple’s first public outing. “She’s very into fashion but she was also looking forward to some quality time with Ansel.”
Elgort and Komyshan met while attending Manhattan's Fiorello La Guardia High School for Music & Art and Performing Arts. Before Elgort became famous, they starred together in a commercial for clothing designer Amanda Uprichard’s Spring 2013 line.
