In an interview with ComingSoon, Peña said that Marvel may have to “crush some expectations” of the characters that will be featured in the upcoming film. The actor explained that after the events in “Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel is in a situation where it may not be able to bring in all the characters.
Not only Luis, but some of the other characters may also face the axe, according to Peña. However, the actor is hopeful that his character will make the cut.
Peña apparently didn’t know if his character would return for the sequel. The actor added said that he wasn’t sure in what capacity his character could return in the sequel if his return was confirmed. It remains to be seen if he will get the call for “Ant-Man 3.”
Filming will begin in 2021, Peña revealed. Peyton Reed, who worked on the first two films of the superhero, will be back to helm the third installment, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
As far as the cast is concerned, Paul Rudd will be reprising his role as Scott Lang. Details about the other actors and characters may be revealed closer to the start of production.
What will the plot be about? According to Screen Rant, Scott already got his happy ending after the events in “Endgame.” The next film may be about setting up his daughter Cassie as the next generation superhero, who could join the Young Avengers team. She could become the comic book superhero Stature.
“Ant-Man 3” will be released in 2022.
