After a long chase, the Los Angeles Lakers finally landed Anthony Davis for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks.

This has been a truly long journey for the Los Angeles Lakers but it seems that all the drama and stress are now about to get paid off as the team will officially add Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis in their roster.

Just a few hours ago, the Pelicans and the Lakers reportedly come to terms on Davis after a massive trade deal.

Well, that could be considered as an understatement as the Lakers traded some of their finest young core Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart. And the final piece that stacked the deal even more was the three first-round picks which included Lakers’ no. 4 pick in this year’s draft, according to Yahoo Sports.

Davis has been opting out of NOLA and at the same time, has been linked to multiple teams as his free agency approaches. The smoke only started to fade away until Davis himself reportedly trimmed down his options to just the Lakers and Knicks just a few days ago, CBS Sports noted.

Before the All-Star center decided that he wants to receive an offer from either LA or NY, Pelicans have already stated the framework of what they wanted in exchange for Davis. According to Yahoo Sports, Pelicans executive vice president for basketball operations David Griffin stated that the specific trade package the Pelicans demand is, a combination of assets which includes an All-Star player, a young player with All-Star potential and two first-round picks.

From the looks of how the deal went down between LA and NOLA, it appears that the Pelicans got more than what they expect. The Lakers on the other hand, finally succeeded in its chase for Davis, a deal which has been one of the team’s goals dating back to the trade deadline.

Now that Davis officially becomes a Laker, the Los Angeles Lakers instantly become Las Vegas favorite to win the NBA championship, ESPN reported.

It is not the first time the fans of the Purple and Gold imagine this scenario to happen. But now that LeBron James is about to team-up with Davis, a superb All-Star with a true desire to play for the team, the feeling is that the Lakers are now about to become the team to beat in the Western Conference.
