This is the third consecutive year that an Antwerp Diamond Pavilion will be exhibiting at the show. Some 30,000 jewelers and other industry professionals are expected to attend IIJS, which is viewed by Belgium's diamond industry as a critical springboard into one of the world's fastest developing jewelry consumer markets.
In the first six months of 2010, polished diamond exports from Belgium to India rose by 42.6 percent to $362.1 million. Belgium is also the largest supplier of rough diamonds to India's polishing sector. About 60 percent of Belgium's rough diamonds head to India.
The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), which organizes the Antwerp Pavilion at IIJS, launched a mini-site at www.antwerpdp-mumbai.com. The website includes an interactive map of the pavilion and a module by which contact can be made with the Antwerp companies exhibiting at the show. (Source: IDEX Online News)
