Apple Inc. confirmed on Monday that it will hold a product launch event on January 27 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco to introduce its latest creation.

The invitation sent out to the media has the headline Come See Our Latest Creation which presumably is the long-awaited tablet. The event starts at 10 a.m. PT.

Tablet rumors have been heating up for some time now, but speculation reached a boiling point last month.

An ex-Google executive said that Apple would unveil a tablet in January, and The Financial Times reported that Apple had booked space at the Yerba Buena Center for a product unveiling.

Apple doesn't specify what will be announced. New details will be discovered at the event.
