Apple Foldable iPhone Release Date, Specs Leaked; Device Could Come With A Stylus

In a comprehensive research note detailing the iPhone lineup's roadmap, Taiwan-based analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared some interesting pieces of information about the company's plans for the Foldable iPhone, including its potential release date and some of its specs.

As reported by 9to5mac, Kuo predicts that Apple could launch the Foldable iPhone by 2023 if it could solve several issues. This includes " the foldable mobile device's key technology," as well as the mass production challenges this year. Kuo's prediction on the launch of the much-awaited iPhone with a new form factor hinges on those issues and on the progress the Cupertino tech giant could make this year.

The analyst does not reveal much about the Foldable iPhone's specs aside from its size, which could be between 7.5 and 8-inches. Kuo's prediction seemingly aligns with the recent report from research firm EqualOcean, which believes that the device would release in 2023. According to the report, the Foldable iPhone will support a stylus, although it is not yet clear if it means the current Apple Pencil or a totally new iPhone design.

The report also claims that the Foldable iPhone with an OLED screen measures between 7.3 and 7.6 inches when not folded. The rumored device is believed to have a clamshell feature, and given that size, the device could have a very tall aspect ratio. Rumors and leaks about the Foldable iPhone have been rife online as other smartphone makers launched products with different designs.

Earlier reports claimed that the Cupertino tech giant has been working with South Korean companies like LG and Samsung on the foldable OLED display technology. However, it is worth noting that despite these rumors and leaks, Apple has not yet confirmed that it is indeed working on a foldable iPhone. In this case, fans should temper their expectations on the Foldable iPhone and take this new piece of information with a pinch of salt.
