Apple iLife '09 goes on sale tomorrow
Apple confirmed on January 27, 2009, the shipment of the Apple's creativity application suite called iLife. There are no new applications in this release, but a whole raft of upgrades and improvements.
Before taking a leave of absence due to health issue Apple's CEO Steve Jobs said, iLife continues to be one of the biggest reasons our customers choose to get a Mac, With iLife '09, we've made working with photos, making movies and learning to play music a lot more fun, and iMovie users are especially going to love the advanced but easy-to-use new features.
As what Steve says, the new version of iLife will include updated versions of iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb.
iPhoto - gets face recognition which allows you to group pics of particular people together as well as GPS location functionality.
iMovie - gets a speed boost as well as the new precision editor, video stabilization, advanced drag and drop and animated travel maps.
Garageband - introduces a cool new way to learn an instrument with free guitar and piano lessons from the likes of Norah Jones and Sting, as well as the ability to download additional (paid for) lessons.
iWeb now allows the inclusion of isight vids and pics as well as working with YouTube and RSS feeds and allowing updates to me automatically added to your Face book page.
iLife '09 also includes iWeb '09 for authoring custom websites and iDVD '09 for creating DVDs and requires Mac OS X version 10.5.6 or later. It is priced at US$79. Customers that purchased a new Mac on or after January 6, 2009, are eligible for a $9.95 upgrade to the new version.
