iPad 2 users will now have the option of using the updated Yahoo! Messenger version 2.1 for video and voice calls, reports said.

Only users with iOS 4.0 or higher versions will be able to benefit from the video and voice calling services. The 21.7MB file is at present available for free on the App store.

“The app now comes with a native iPad UI based on the usual standard of a landscape sidebar showing the buddy list, and main content on right to chat and send photos or videos through some icons in the top toolbar,” reported Macstories, a weblog dealing with iOS, OS X, and Apple news.

The application will have an optimized layout. Problems such as spam management have been tackled in a promising way, and new bugs like abrupt sign-out have been fixed.
