Apple's iOS 14 already has a second beta which shows many new features and enhancements. Here's a quick look at some of the things the company added to the iPhone's operating system version.
The iOS 14 beta 2 includes many new changes and brings a slew of improvements and enhancements for a better iPhone experience. Here are some of them, according to MacRumors.
App Library
In iOS 14, users who downloaded apps to the App Library and not the Home Screen will be able to delete them directly from the App Library. Apple replaced the "Remove" feature for other apps with "Delete."
Apple Pay
Apple Pay, the company's mobile payment platform, is now available in Mac catalyst apps.
Calendar icon
The new Calendar app icon in iOS 14 beta 2 shows the day of the week in an abbreviated form instead of spelling it out completely.
Clock icon
The Clock icon in iOS 14 beta 2 has been updated to feature a bolder font and thicker hour and minute hands.
Control Center
The Control Center now tells users which apps recently accessed the iPhone camera or microphone. This will help users control the apps they have on their devices better.
Files widget
Users now have a new Files widget they can use. The widget can be added to Today View or the Home Screen and can be in small, medium or large sizes.
HomeKit Favorites
Apple updated HomeKit favorites to feature larger icons in Control Center. This will be helpful especially for some users.
Music
The Music app now allows users to disable animated cover art. The toggle for “Show Apple Music” is no longer featured as well.
Music haptic feedback
Users will now receive haptic feedback when pressing play, pause, next and back buttons in Apple Music.
Family Sharing
Family sharing now has a new icon in the Settings app.
Shortcuts
The Shortcuts app no longer provides users with an option to open .shortcuts files.
WiFi Privacy Warning
iOS 14 beta 2 alerts users if they are attempting to connect to a Wi-Fi network that doesn't use a private Wi-Fi address. The warning is shown in the Settings app.
