The so-called "iPhone 5 rumor mill" has been hugely contributed by a number of leaked photos, claimed to be of the components of Apple's next generation iPhone, which is highly expected to land in the second week of September.

From the claimed photos of the next iPhone's back panel to the smaller dock connector, many leaked photos of the rumored iPhone 5 parts have created much buzz around the tech world over the last few months. And now, thanks to another set of leaked photos of the purported new iPhone, it's time to peep into the handset's motherboard.

The new photos that appeared to be front and rear shots of the motherboard came from a Chinese language forum WeiPhone.com (via Nowhereelse.fr). The photos showed an iPhone logic board with EMI shielding, covering most of the interior. Interestingly, the forum member, who posted the new motherboard photos Sunday, was the one who also revealed the iPhone 4S's logic board last year.

AppleInsider tried to analyze why the parts could indeed be authentic:

"Lending credence to the part's authenticity is the screw hole placement, which matches up to screw anchors seen on a recent gallery of images that combined a number of leaked external components to form a 'fully assembled' handset."

Nowhereelse.fr also put together a brief gif animation to demonstrate how the holes and anchors align.

Although the claimed iPhone 5 motherboard photos don't just offer much of information regarding the upcoming handset, technology news website 9TO5Mac spoke to repair shop iDeviceGuys and stated that the piece in the leaked photos did match up with earlier iPhone 5 reports, which suggested that the device would feature a smaller SIM card, compared to iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

iDeviceGuys also said that the battery connector in the photos apparently had five pins, unlike the iPhone 4S which has four.

"iDeviceGuys also says that more antenna connections are present (compared to the iPhone 4S), which may lead credence to the rumors pointing to this new iPhone as the first LTE smartphone from Apple," said the report.

"Apparently, the digitizer connector for the display is also tweaked, and this may point to the already-rumored new screen technology coming in this new iPhone."

Another report in Engadget attempted to draw attention to something else - the extra wireless antenna connections. According to the report, "they aren't any surefire signs of 4G, but the antenna links suggest Apple isn't content with what the iPhone 4S has to offer."

The iPhone 5 is highly expected to be released during a media event Sept 12 and as per rumors go, the device will feature a smaller doc connector, replacing the current 30-pin port. According to latest reports, the new connector would be a 9-pin dock connector as a possible reference to this has been discovered in the iOS 6 beta 4.

Rumors also suggest that the handset would run on iOS 6, which would be completely scalable to a larger 640 x 1136 display. The device is also likely to feature a much-improved processor, a larger 4-inch Retina display, 4G LTE technology, Near Field Communication (NFC), 1GB RAM, iOS 6, improved Siri, liquidmetal casing, an 8 megapixel (or even higher) rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and a much-improved battery life.
