Apple iPhone 5S Unveiled: Price Points Set, Range From $199 To $399
During an event Tuesday at its Cupertino headquarters, Apple revealed the price points for several versions of the new iPhone 5S. Here's a summary of every iPhone 5S price point.
The iPhone 5S will come in three flavors: 16GB for $199, 32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399, each with a two-year contract. Pre-orders start this Friday, Sept. 13. The iPhone 5S will be released on Sept. 20. New cases will also be offered in multiple colors for $39 each.
The iPhone 5S features a A7 processor, which Apple claims is the first and only smartphone with a 64-bit chip. Apple also provided some details on the M7 motion coprocessor, which measures your motion data, possibly producing more accurate fitness data. Apple also claimed during its event that the iPhone 5S is five times faster than the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5S comes in three colors: black, silver and Gold. Apple claims a 3G talk time of 10 hours and 10 hours of LTE browsing as well, with 250 hours of standby time.
The iPhone 5S includes a host of other improvements include slow motion video recording, 720p video capture at 120 fps, a fingerprint sensor built directly into the iPhone 5S Home button,
