Apple Loses Bid to Ban U.S. Sale of Samsung Galaxy Smartphones, Tablets
A U.S. District Court judge has denied Apple's request for a preliminary injunction against Samsung Electronics' devices.
Reuters reported that Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, Calif., denied the iPhone maker's request to block the sale of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the U.S. market. Her ruling was released on Friday.
It is not clear that an injunction on Samsung's accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed, Koh wrote, as reported by Reuters.
Apple and Samsung have been locked in legal battles since April. The rivals have approximately 20 cases in 10 countries.
Apple has accused Samsung of slavishly copying its iPhone and iPad for its Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets.
These are claims that Samsung has denied.
The South Korean company has said it has proud history of innovation in the mobile industry.
