Apple releases iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5
Just a little more than a week after the beta 4 was made available to developers, Apple released its iPhone OS 3.0, beta 5.
According to early feedback, the new release is more security centered improving the security than what it is adding features or increasing stability.
In the beta 5, the MMS support can no longer be turned on.
Other changes Apple have made include disabling the ability to update the iPhone’s carrier file; the option was available in beta 4, but phased out in beta 5.
The product also comes with new features such as a trashcan icon appearing in landscape orientation apps where previously it only occurred in portrait.
