iOS releases have recently come fast since Apple rolled out iOS 13 in September. Some are big releases with new significant features, and some are small updates with a very specific focus. Today, Apple rolls out iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2 with no new features but a plethora of fixes.

This is the update to the iOS 13.2 build that was rolled out on Oct. 28. The latest iOS and iPadOS build are available on all compatible devices over the air on the device’s Settings app. The most recent update contains minor changes focused on improvements in performance as well as bug fixes on issues that OS 13.2 was not able to resolve.

Based on the release notes, iOS 13.2.2 fixes an issue that could impact apps running in the background to quit unexpectedly, leading the apps to refresh more than the usual. These app refreshes are happening on YouTube, Safari, and several other media apps. These issues also triggered many frustrated users to air their complaints in various inline forum sites.

Thankfully, Apple is now addressing these complaints through the iOS 13.2.2. Earlier this week, several developers reported that Apple has already addressed this particular issue in the iOS 13.3 beta. Other fixes in the iOS 13.2.2 include solution on the issue where the device could lose cell service following a call, as well as a fix on the bug the causes cellular data to be momentarily unavailable.

Additionally, iOS 13.2.2 also fixes unreadable email replies. It turns out that some encrypted email messages between Exchange accounts were unreadable. There are also a couple of other fixes that iOS 13.2.2 introduce. One is the issue where the Kerberos single sign-on service in Safari requires presents authentication prompt.

The other is the issue where charging the device is being interrupted on YubiKey Lightning-powered accessories. iOS users experiencing these issues should download the iOS 13.2.2 or iPadOS 13.2.2 on their devices to see if problems are addressed.
