'Aquaman' Sequel: Jason Momoa Wants Flash And Wonder Woman
“Aquaman” is all set to become a huge hit, and the early box office numbers have been enough for Warner Bros. Pictures to begin talking about a sequel. Lead cast member Jason Momoa said in a recent interview that he would like to see Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) or The Flash (Ezra Miller) in the next film.
One of the reasons why “Aquaman” seems to be doing so well when compared to the other DC movies is that it is full of vibrant colors, as opposed to the dark DC films. In a recent interview with Collider, Momoa said that it is question of what the audience wants. The actor personally likes dark things like the dead branches and the cold of the winter.
The film is the origin story of Arthur (Jason Momoa), but when Momoa was asked what other DC character he would have liked to see in a cameo appearance, he chose Flash. Momoa revealed that Miller is like family to him and that he would love to have him on the set.
For the sequel, however, Momoa said that it was a tie between Flash and Wonder Woman because he didn’t want to pick one over the other. It’s still early, but talks about an “Aquaman” sequel have already begun.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the early numbers of “Aquaman” have given Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich enough confidence to “begin talks on a sequel.” The first thing they will need is a script, but they have not yet chosen a writer.
One good thing about an “Aquaman” sequel for Amber Heard, who plays Mera, is a big increase in her pay. The actress apparently got a low seven-figure salary for the first film, but the huge numbers the film is making is expected to lead to her getting more next time.
One big factor that helped “Aquaman” become such a big hit is the director, James Wan, who took some risks in creating this new undersea world and the way some of the scenes were shot. Although there are some crazy sequences in the film, there is one that was so weird that Wan himself decided that he can’t do it.
In an interview with Collider, Wan said that there was one scene in the script that was just too weird for him to make. The scene involved Aquaman being thrown in a prison in Atlantis, where the guards are sharks. Arthur starts a prison riot, and one of the gurads starts bleeding. The blood in the water starts a feeding frenzy by the other shark guards, and through all this “clouds of blood” Aquaman escapes.
