Are Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus engaged? This is what a new tabloid report is implying. The “Triple Frontier” actor is said to have popped the question to the “Saturday Night Live” producer and the latter is close to saying “yes.”

Affleck and Shookus were photographed hanging out together early this month and now Australian weekly magazine NW is claiming that the two may have already gotten engaged. The outlet claimed that the actor proposed because he was eager to win Shookus back.

A supposed source was even quoted to have said that Ben is feeling so lonely at this point in his life that he wants to change that by asking Lindsay’s hand in marriage. The television producer is said to be mulling the actor’s proposal over.

“He’s been lonely without Lindsay and he wants to share his life with her,” the source said.

However, Gossip Cop has already slammed the outlet and its circulating report. Right off the bat, the fact-checking website questioned how conveniently the magazine left out very important details when it comes to reports about celebrity engagements.

Apparently, NW did not include details like where Ben allegedly proposed and when this happened. There was also no mention of any engagement ring, so the story is really questionable.

Because the tabloid forgot to include these important facts about the alleged proposal, Gossip Cop reached out to the “Justice League” actor’s rep. According to Ben’s spokesperson, there’s no truth in the story at all because Affleck and Shookus are not engaged and they don’t have plans to be anytime soon.

The fact-checking outlet also pointed out how NW has a stellar track record when it comes to fabricating stories about Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Thus, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the magazine’s latest report is also a hoax.

Nevertheless, it’s true that Affleck and Shookus are once again friendly following their breakup in the summer of 2018. After their split, Ben entered rehab for his alcohol addiction.

Meanwhile, Garner has also moved on from Affleck. Jennifer is currently dating Cali Group CEO John Miller and there are even rumors that the two already share a serious romance that they could be getting engaged soon.

Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in 2005 and announced their separation in 2015. They filed for divorce in April 2017, and it was finalized last October. The exes are amicable as they co-parent their three children: Violet, 13; Seraphina, 10; and Samuel, 6.
