Are Nick Viall, Vanessa Grimaldi Compatible? ‘Bachelor’ Villain Corinne Olympios Doesn’t Think So
“Bachelor” fans aren’t the only ones who have their doubts about Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi’s relationship. Season 21 villain Corinne Olympios has a few qualms about the recently engaged couple as well.
The ABC reality star recently did an interview with Hits 1 on Sirius XM, during which she was asked about Nick and Vanessa. Corinne told listeners she felt the former “Bachelor” and his fiancée were “being phony.” The Miami native said she knows them both well from appearing on the show together and they’re not being authentic.
“They’re so phony with each other,” she said during the interview (via ET Online). “It sucks, because they’re both really real people separately, but whenever they were together looking at them...I mean I lived with Vanessa and dated Nick, that’s not how either one of them really are. So I’m like, ‘What are you guys doing?’”
If Nick and Vanessa’s relationship is a ruse, they’re going to great lengths to keep it up. The pair have been open about the fact that they’re not planning on tying the knot anytime soon, but they haven’t totally put wedding stuff out of their minds. Nick recently opened up to Extra about whether or not their nuptials would be televised, revealing that he and Vanessa haven’t ruled it out.
“Vanessa and I are just focused on our relationship — when we decide it’s time for us to take that next step, we’re just going to plan a wedding, and if the show wants us, great, and if not...We’re not really focused on whether it’s going to be televised or not,” he said.
The “Bachelor” couple may not be focused on televising their wedding, but they’ve taken several opportunities to broadcast their love for one another. Nick, who is currently competing on Season 24 of “Dancing With the Stars,” recently included Vanessa in one of his routines. During the Week 4 dance, he nearly locks lips with partner Peta Murgatryod before running to the audience where his love was waiting for a passionate kiss.
Their regular public displays of affection aren’t winning fans over. Many still question their compatibility and they haven’t been quiet about it. Nick and Vanessa were asked about rumors surrounding their relationship following their awkward “After the Final Rose” ceremony appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
“I don’t think so,” Vanessa said when asked about appearing uncomfortable (via Us Weekly). “I think we both went in it wanting to be honest and open about couples, you know, sometimes things can get tough, but we’re very committed to each other, we love each other, and that’s what we’re focusing on.”
Will Nick and Vanessa last? Only time will tell. For more brief glimpses into their relationship, tune in to “DWTS” Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
