Are ‘Real Housewives Of NYC’ Cast Members Getting Fired Following Bethenny Frankel’s Exit?

“Real Housewives Of New York City” viewers were left shocked when Bethenny Frankel announced she was quitting the show last year. Since her exit, it appears the current cast is having some trouble with keeping fans interested in the Bravo reality series.

Andy Cohen, who is an executive producer on the show, recently opened up about the NYC franchise, and how the stars haven’t been fighting as much compared to past seasons. Although the episodes may not be as catty as viewers would like, the “Watch What Happens Live” host doesn’t plan on firing cast members just yet.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cohen admitted that the network hasn’t discussed shaking up the cast despite the lack of drama during the latest season.

“First of all, I think that we’re really celebrating Leah [McSweeney] joining the show, ‘cause she’s done an incredible job as a first-season Housewife, just getting in there, and she’s really integrated really well,” he explained.

“She didn’t really know any of the women before we started, so it’s great. And also, you know, we lost an MVP this season with Bethenny leaving the show.”

The women may have had a slow start when it comes to the drama, but Cohen believes the show still has a future despite the minor set back.

“So, listen, it always takes a minute to kind of regroup and find your footing, but they certainly hit the ground running this season, and there’s a lot more to come for them,” he teased.

“And they are a group that really does see each other throughout the year. This is not a ‘show friendship.’ They’re really in each other’s lives.”

In August 2019, Bethenny told Us Weekly that she felt her time on “RHONY” had come to an end. “I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter,” the 48-year-old said in a statement.

“It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy, and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women.”
