Romance seems to be brewing in the American Idol household.

After reports that contestants Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart are dating, OK! Magazine is now reporting that American Idol heartthrob, Paul McDonald, is dating Twilight star Nikki Reed.

According to recent reports, the two have been dating, mainly via Skype, after they met on the red carpet at the Red Riding Hood premiere in Los Angeles.

E! Online is reporting that the relationship is official citing a source that's claiming Reed is calling the American Idol hopeful her boyfriend.

According to OK! Magazine when the two first met at the Red Riding Hood premiere, McDonald did not know who Reed was.

Reed told McDonald she was a fan and that he was amazing. When she walked away McDonald asked, was she a famous actress or something? I'd hang out with her!

McDonald has advanced to the Top 8 of American Idol. He recently performed Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. He is known for his pearly white teeth and his raspy, folksy voice.
