‘Are You The One?’ Season 6 Premiere Reveals First Perfect Match? [Spoilers]

MTV has done it again. “Are You the One?” returned for Season 6 on Wednesday night and once again, a group of 22 people who admittedly suck at finding love were put to the test to find their perfect match.

The season kicked off with new host Terrence J telling the singles they would have 10 chances to find the 11 perfect matches, decided by MTV’s extensive matchmaking algorithm, and if successful, would walk away with their share of $1 million.

Getaway Challenge

Terrence doesn’t waste any time in episode 1 announcing the season’s first getaway challenge, “What You See Is What You Get.” The challenge has the women taking the lead by choosing a partner based on images of objects shown on a monitor that their male housemates deem important to them. If they agree the item is also important, they “swipe right.” The first three couples to pair up win a date.

Audrey is the first to raise her hand when she’s shown an image of a football and she’s matched with Malcolm, a former football player. Keyana is the only one who pick the photo of a piano and she’s paired with Ethan, an aspiring rapper. No one raises their hand for the religious image and Clinton misses out on a date. A condom immediately gets a reaction from Jada and she’s gifted a date with “The Shad.” Jada is upset about her date and says she’s more interested in Clinton.

Terrence then tells the three couples they’ll go on an “amazing date” before one of them is sent into the truth booth by the rest of the house. The truth booth will verify whether or not the couple is a perfect match.

A Perfect Match Revealed?

Back at the cast’s New Orleans mansion, Ethan announces he think he’s going to get put into the friendzone by all the women in the house after he sees Keyana flirting with her Instagram crush, Michael. Kenya is quick to fall for Michael, telling him they will get married and says they’re a perfect match. Later, Keyana opens up to Michael about a past failed relationship and a miscarriage. He says he respects how real she is and admit he has “butterflies” when he is around her. They end the night by showering together.

“I don’t think I’ve ever felt this connection with a guy before ever in my life. It’s super scary but I’m feeling it,” Keyana says.

Other Hookups

Another date couple also fails to connect when Audrey says she’s excited for her date with Malcolm but he appears to have other plans. The night before their outing he expresses interest in Diandra and the two get cozy in the pool.

More drama occurs when Jada notices Uche flirting with Clinton. She tells the Uche she’s going to be “aggressive” in getting his attention and Uche says she’s also not going to back down.

Elsewhere, Keith and Alexis also get to know one another with him saying he’s attracted to her confidence. They soon after share a kiss and eventually end up sleeping together in the Boom Boom Room. “I put it down pretty well. I have pretty good reviews online,” Keith says.

The Dates

The three couples head to a bar and while there, share a giant cocktail. During the date, Ethan asks Keyana about Michael and she admits she likes him. During a private conversation, Audrey warns Malcolm he’s usually the type of guy she goes for and she calls him a player. Her admits to her that he used to be but says he now wants something serious.

The Truth Booth

Back at the house, the three couples learn that Ethan and Keyana have been voted into the truth booth by the rest of the cast. Michael is nervous that Keyana could be headed to the honeymoon suite with another man. En route to the booth both Ethan and Keyana are scared but they soon after learn they’re not a perfect match and head back to the house.

“I’ve never had somebody cheer so loudly after they were relieved from being around me,” Ethan says.

House Drama

During a game of truth of dare, Uche and Clinton share a kiss. Diandra is then dared to kiss Malcolm and Audrey is not pleased. Lex is dared to kiss everyone in the house and she does just that. Keith says he’s been ignoring Lex’s red flags and worries how she’ll behave when he’s not around.

“How do you build trust that way?” Keith says.

The drama continues when Malcolm and Nurys start building a connection only to be interrupted by Diandra, who has claimed Malcolm as her own. “Little do you know he’s going to be mine now,” Nurys says to the cameras.

Unfortunately for Nurys, Malcolm takes a shower with Diandra shortly after only to hook up with Nurys afterwards.

The episode ends without showing the first matchup ceremony. Catch the next “Are You the One?” Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 10 p.m. EDT on MTV.
