A 21-year-old Colorado man is wanted for murdering four people at a home in Aurora. The man was violating a restraining order filed against him by his domestic partner and fled the scene after the incident, police said.
The suspect, identified as Joseph Castorena, is on the lam after the fatal shooting at a residence on North Geneva Street, on Sunday morning. Castorena is armed, Aurora Police Department said in a press release Sunday.
"Suspect is armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see him or know where he is," the department said.
Deputies responded to the scene after they received a report of suspicious activity at the residence after Castorena's unidentified domestic partner called 911.
While attending the emergency call, the operator heard gunshots in the background and rushed the officers to the scene. Upon arrival, the deputies found one woman and three men dead from gunshot wounds.
Three of the victims were found inside the home while one was outside the residence. Officials have not revealed the identities of the victims, but the deceased woman is not Castorena's domestic partner, police said.
The woman who made the call and two young children were found unharmed inside the home and were shifted to a safe place, Law & Crime reported.
Castorena "has a history involving domestic violence" and had a restraining order issued the week prior which prohibited him from approaching his partner and the North Geneva home.
Cops searched the neighborhood and Castorena's family's home a few blocks away from the crime scene but the suspect remains at large, reports said.
"We have to assume he is armed. And we are very concerned and want to do everything we can to find him and take him into custody as soon as possible," Aurora Interim Police Chief Daniel Oates said in the press conference.
Officials described Castorena as slim built and five foot, four inches tall. They also shared a photo of the suspect from another arrest, however, it is unclear what charges he was arrested on the previous occasion.
