KEY POINTS

  • PFL has promoted Loren Mack to senior vice president of corporate communications
  • Mack joined PFL in 2020 after working in Asia as a top MMA executive
  • Mack has previously worked with the UFC and ONE Championship

Loren Mack spent over a decade in Asia, working with some of the biggest sports and media companies in the world and essentially getting a feel of what it’s like on the opposite side of the world.

So when he returned home to the United States, his experience in both North America and Asia landed him a job with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), a United States-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion that has quickly risen to the No. 2 spot in the industry alongside the UFC.

PFL, which returns for its 2021 season on April 23rd, stands out as being the only organization in the world that presents MMA in a true sports style format that features a regular season, playoffs, and finals.

The league has also managed to bring in some of the biggest and most accomplished names in combat sports, including world champions such as Fabricio Werdum, Anthony Pettis and Claressa Shields.

Mack joined PFL in July 2020, coming on board as the league’s new vice president of corporate communications. He has since been focused on growing the league’s brand and pushing its efforts for global expansion.

With MMA-hungry markets in Asia such as Japan, China, Korea, Thailand and the Philippines being PFL’s prime targets, Mack’s expertise and experience have been an indispensable advantage.

PFL recently secured a broadcast deal with Vietnam’s largest media company, FPT, which means that other Asian nations shouldn’t be far behind.

Now, Mack will be taking on a bigger role in the company after being promoted to senior vice president, and it’s something that he’s welcoming with open arms.

“Working in the PFL means getting to work with some of the best and brightest minds in the business and the best team of executives ever assembled in sports, and that pushes me to continue using my skills and my talents to help build one of sports' greatest brands in the PFL,” Mack said in an official press release.

Mack’s new role and responsibilities come at the perfect time, especially with PFL getting ready to begin its 2021 season, which is looking more and more like the league’s biggest yet.

“Congratulations to Loren Mack, who has been promoted to SVP of Communications at PFL,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray. “The PFL continues to strengthen its world-class management team with expertise in MMA combined with broader sports, entertainment, media, and technology.”

PFL also recently appointed Tim Clyne as chief financial officer and Jon Werther as executive vice president for strategic partnerships and new business, further solidifying the league’s executive team.
