Director Zack Snyder took to Twitter on Thursday to share a series of impressive character posters of his upcoming horror-action movie, "Army of the Dead."
The 55-year-old director shared the posters of not only the humans, but also an alpha zombie. The posters are created in deeply saturated colors and bright shades, which look way different from most of the previous DC Extended Universe movies.
The protagonist characters were introduced as the "Las Vengeance" team that featured retired professional wrestler and actor Dave Bautista as Scott Ward, who is a veteran of the zombie war. Actress Ella Purnell, who portrayed Kate Ward's character, is Scott's daughter in the movie.
"Meet the #LasVengeance crew," Snyder captioned. "Scott and Cruz. Where it all started. Las Vengeance Founder and his Fearless Right-hand. #ArmyOfTheDead."
Actors Matthias Schweighöfer and Omari Hardwick were introduced as Ludwig Dieter and Vanderohe, respectively. Synder established their characters as "The Philosopher and the Safecracker" in the caption.
In the next thread of the same tweet, actors Tig Notaro and Nora Arnezeder were presented as "Peters and Lilly - The Pilot and the Coyote." Indian actress Huma Qureshi was introduced as Geeta, who is the "Determined Mother."
Snyder also introduced actors Raúl Castillo and Samantha Win as "Guzman and Chambers - The Influencer and his Formidable Companion." In the concluding tweet, the director introduced actor Theo Rossi as "The Enforcer" and a zombie character (portrayed by a stunt performer, Richard Cetrone) known as "The King."
The movie is slated to release on Netflix and in theaters on May 21.
Snyder shared a video on Wednesday to his Twitter and noted the "big screen is back!"
"THE WAIT IS OVER...the big screen is back!" he captioned. "The movies, the way you've always loved them, is the way to see them again. #TheBigScreenIsBack"
Besides "Army of the Dead," Snyder will serve as executive producer on the highly anticipated movie, "The Suicide Squad," which is slated to release on Aug. 6, 2021.
Snyder is also involved as a producer in "The Flash" and "Army of Thieves," which are scheduled for 2022 release. Considering his work on television, Snyder's "Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas" is currently under production.
