‘Arrow’ Season 6 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis, Photos And Promo Video Released
“Arrow” Season 6 is making a big change. After spending five years as the Emerald Archer, Oliver has decided he must pass the torch to someone new. He named Diggle his successor, and audiences will see the veteran take over as the Green Arrow in episode 3 of The CW drama.
In the promo video, Oliver (Stephen Amell) seems confident in handing the reins over to his former bodyguard. “You’ll be a better hero than I ever was,” Oliver says. Diggle even looks pretty comfortable in the Green Arrow suit, seen in photos below.
However, his teammates don’t seem as sure. Curtis/Mr. Terrific (Echo Kellum) and Rene/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) both seem to have issues with Diggle’s new role as leader. Dinah/Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) isn’t shown questioning him, but she is the only one who knows that he has nerve damage that could affect his new role.

It seems a team of villains will be giving Diggle trouble in his first week as the Green Arrow. Onyx (Chastity Dotson), a character from DC Comics, will be introduced in episode 3, which is titled “Next of Kin.” “A rogue black ops team led by Onyx breaks into Kord Industries and steals something lethal,” the synopsis teases.
Meanwhile, Oliver will be trying to focus on more normal challenges, such as parenting. He’ll even reach out to someone for advice. “Oliver struggles to connect with William (Jack Moore) so he reaches out to a surprising source for help,” the logline hints.
So who is this mysterious ally? We don’t have any hints yet, but there are lots of other fathers he could turn to. Rene has a daughter, but Oliver promptly ignored his advice about lying last week. Quentin (Paul Blackthorne) probably has the most experience as a father, but his experiences lately might have him too traumatized to give guidance.
Of course, there is one other person dealing with a very similar situation. Slade/Deathstroke (Manu Bennet) was last seen in the “Arrow” season premiere heading to Calgary to reconnect with his son after years away. We know that the character is coming back in episode 5, which is aptly titled “Deathstroke Returns,” but could he be returning sooner? Fans will have to tune in to learn the identity of Oliver’s adviser.
“Arrow” Season 6, episode 3 airs Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
