Arsenal News: Unless Ozil Changes Ways, Future With Gunners Not Looking Good

Mesut Ozil has not seen action since the football restart, and the chances of seeing him do so are not looking good. For former Arsenal forward Ian Wright, Ozil is already "gone" from the club, and the reason behind it is all about attitude.

Questions about Ozil's alignment and attitude are seen by critics as one of the reasons behind the benching. Looking ahead, his future at Emirates Stadium appears bleak.

This is not the first time that the German player has been under scrutiny as he is often criticized due to his laidback approach. Under Mikel Arteta, that will not be acceptable. His erratic showing this season has been hit, and if he does not change his ways, an exit from Emirates Stadium could be looming.

“Mikel’s given people the opportunity to get into the team if their attitude is right but at the minute their attitude is not right," Wright said to Premier League Productions. “But I believe that he’s somebody that’s gone from Arsenal - whether he stays or Mikel gets rid of him, we’re not going to see much of him.”

The thing with Ozil is that he still has 12 months remaining in his contract with Arsenal F.C. He is the highest-paid player in the lineup, earning roughly $444,000 a week. He has yet to see action since the football restart as he is said to be suffering from a mysterious back injury.

The 31-year-old put all those doubts to rest recently when he announced on social media that he was healthy and ready to play. That ended up adding more fuel to the fire in the rift between him and Arteta.

Another player who has been kept in the doghouse is Matteo Guendouzi. The French player drew the ire of Arteta when he jawed with Neal Maupay of Brighton regarding player salaries.

Arteta did not like the exchange and said it was not the culture he was trying to establish at Arsenal. Guendouzi has already told Gunners management of his plans to move out by the season's end.

As for Ozil, his future remains rocky. He does have 12 months remaining in his current deal, but the belief is that he will be moving out.

As per a previous report, Fenerbahce pitched an offer to the World Cup winner for a possible move to the Turkish Super Lig. Ozil reportedly thumbed down the deal and seems to be more interested in playing out the rest of his contract.
