  • Arsenal remains a favorite to sign Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga
  • Camavinga will make a decision after the youth tournament
  • The midfielder's agent insists they are not rushing things up

Arsenal might be in for a waiting game with one of its top targets for the next transfer window.

Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga has become one of the most in-demand players in the summer market.

Among the big-name clubs keen on securing his signature is English Premier League side Arsenal.

The Gunners are expected to make a move for Camavinga sooner rather than later. However, the midfielder has made his suitors know that they will have to wait for his decision until the end of the Under-21 European Championship, according to a report obtained by Inside Futbol.

The teenage phenom wants to keep his focus on France’s run in the youth international tournament at the moment and will make a decision after the competition, the report said.

As Camavinga concentrates on the youth tournament, the report noted that his representatives are expected to continue to hold talks with his suitors, including Arsenal.

Apart from Arsenal, reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain is also tailing Camavinga.

The Parisians are looking to take advantage of the Angolan, who has informed Rennes that he isn’t willing to sign a contract extension if demands in his salary are not met, Marca reported.

Amid link-ups with Arsenal and PSG, Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett stressed that there will be a lot of discussions before his in-demand client makes a final decision.

"Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones,” Barnett told AMTV. “I mean top, top clubs. We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age. Playing in a good club is nice for him. It might be this year, or he wants to have another year.”

"[Camavinga] He has got to talk to his family, his father,” he added. “We will all sit down and decide. We will talk to Rennes as well and decide. There is no rush for him. He’s probably the best young player in the world. He has just turned 18. He’s an unbelievable talent. He could play in any team in the world. He is still going to be a great talent at 19.”

The Gunners are expected to bolster their lineup in the summer, and as early as now, Camavinga and Houssem Aouar are topping the club’s transfer wish list.

As for the possible departees, Willian is currently being linked to a move away from the Emirates Stadium and a reunion with Chelsea.
