Arsenal might face an unexpected obstacle in its attempt to lure one of the most notable rising stars in the sport.

Rumor has it that Arsenal is closing in on the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan N'Dicka. In the past few days, it has become known that the Gunners are now the frontrunners in landing the French defender.

However, a looming uncertainty might be bound to happen in the deal as N’Dicka’s current value is expected to rise sooner rather than later, and Arsenal has been told to “dig deeper” into the 21-year-old’s situation, German publication Frankfurter Neue Presse reported.

N’Dicka is in contract with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt until 2023--with his current value believed to be around the region of €22.5million ($27 million).

But according to the report, any club that eyes to sign him must be prepared to spend more than the said figure.

The remarkable center-back has been linked to a move away from Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the summer transfer window.

Apart from Arsenal, reports state that N’Dicka’s noticeable form has also captured the attention of other English Premier League clubs such as Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hutter is thrilled to witness N’Dicka progress this season. However, he is also well aware that his star defender is now being chased by an array of top European clubs, a situation he thinks is difficult to handle.

"Evan N'Dicka has made a great development," Hutter told One Football last month, “He always performs and impresses more and more with his skills on the pitch. He's never injured, he's at a top level physically and works incredibly hard."

"If he's scoring goals now, it will usually be difficult to keep him," he added.

N’Dicka joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Auxerre in 2018 at 18 years old. Despite his tender age, he has managed to become a key figure in Hutter’s squad and is now one of France's up-and-coming defenders.

Like any other sought-after prospect, N’Dicka likewise has his set of idols. According to the six-foot-four prodigy, he is trying to emulate the game of Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane.

"I like Samuel Umtiti plays very much, he is very, very strong,” N’Dicka told Bundesliga’s official website. “I also like the way Raphael Varane plays. Or Adil Rami. I watch them. Getting close to this standard wouldn't be that bad for me."
