  • Reiss Nelson is predicted to leave Arsenal due to little opportunities on the table
  • The Gunners could try and keep Nelson if he could come up with a big performance
  • Nelson is currently on loan with Feyenoord

Arsenal is expected to see a lot of players leave next summer, and one of them could be Reiss Nelson.

The 21-year-old winger has hardly gotten the chance with the Gunners.

One of the reasons that hindered him from having regular minutes on the pitch is the fact that the Gunners took in several names in the last transfer window, namely Aaron Ramsdale, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Nuno Tavares and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The bad news is that while he is already struggling to secure some reasonable playing time, more targets are on the Gunners’ list may further dampen Nelson’s bid for exposure, Football London reported.

The unfortunate twist of events is undoubtedly a big disappointment from Nelson's end.

There were huge expectations from him when he returned from a loan stint with Hoffenheim in 2019, but all that went for naught.

Having to contend with players such as Willian, Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Emile Smith Rowe at the time, Nelson ended up being loaned out to Feyenoord after signing a one-year contract extension.

As of this writing, Nelson has yet to get the chance to start for the Eredivisie side. Adding to his frustrations is the fact that he has been suffering injuries.

Regardless, the speculation of most is that he is likely to leave the club with hopes of joining another team that can give him better chances or opportunities.

While his suggested exit makes sense, the Gunners may not be shutting the door on Nelson as it would depend on how he performs with the Dutch national team.

Should he permanently leave the Emirates Stadium, Nelson needs to show other teams what he has to offer.

Hence, his future and talent may only gain notice if the attacking midfielder starts creating some noise before his current deal comes to an end.
