  • Borussia Dortmund is seeking more information on Aubameyang with Arsenal
  • Aubameyang may not fit in well with the mix of young players of Die Borussen
  • Aubameyang is pursued by multiple teams, but his salary is standing in the way

The number of teams interested in taking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang off Arsenal’s hands continues to grow despite questions on his performance this season.

Multiple teams are inquiring about the 32-year-old striker, and the latest club to allegedly reach out is Borussia Dortmund.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Die Borussen is seeking more information on the availability of Aubameyang.

The Gabonese has not seen action for the Gunners since December, and there have been a lot of developments.

That includes being stripped of the captaincy for reportedly missing a team meeting, BBC reported.

It appears that things have grown from bad to worse since then with the growing belief that Aubameyang is headed out of the Emirates Stadium.

Dortmund is no stranger to Aubameyang. He spent four and a half seasons at Westfalenstadion so it could be a potential homecoming for the Gabonese if both sides can work something out.

But that may depend on what the real score is on Aubameyang, possibly the reason why he has been struggling with Arsenal this season.

Despite the adversity tied to the aforementioned striker, such has not stopped multiple teams from checking his availability.

Aside from Die Borussen, other clubs who are believed to be interested in him include Barcelona, Juventus and Newcastle.

A return to Dortmund, however, raises several questions. One is the fit that the Gabonese national would have in the mix especially with Marco Rose relying heavily on a much-younger rotation.

That rotation is headed no less by Erling Haaland, someone who has also been covered by multiple teams.

Aubameyang has been hardly a shade of his old self from last season.

His believed rift with the Gunners, particularly with head coach Mikel Arteta, is well-documented and an exit is largely possible.

Moving Aubameyang as soon as possible appears to be a prerogative of the Gunners.

Given the long spell that he has been out of action, Arsenal is worried about the money they can recoup on possible deals.

Aubameyang is earning £350,000 ($471,320) per week in wages, yet another factor that may be holding teams back.

One team that may not mind spending on Aubameyang is Newcastle United.

Unfortunately, the Magpies were warned by former English Premier League striker Tony Cascarino of taking in Aubameyang, stressing he is not the kind of player Newcastle needs, The Mirror reported.
