Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners On High Alert For Keen Brazilian Playmaker?
If rumors are to be believed, Premiership side Arsenal may look to submit a bid for Italian Serie A side Lazio’s Brazilian playmaker Hernanes when the summer transfer window opens. It is believed that the player is keen to join the Gunners.
Hernanes, 26, who has had an impressive season for his club, has been reportedly monitored by the Gunners scouts. Gunners are still on the lookout for an experienced midfield man after the departure of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. Moreover, it is still unclear if Yossi Benayoun, on loan from Chelsea, will stay at the end of the season.
The player, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Talksport, had been targeted by Russian cash-rich club Anzhi and Lazio were also willing to let go of the player, but it was revealed that the player wanted his current club to turn down any offers made by Anzhi and instead listen to offers made by Arsenal for him.
However, it is still to be seen if Lazio will look into the player’s demands of joining Arsenal as the Serie A side is hoping to double the money for the player this summer after they got him for ($14.54 million) £9 million. And Arsenal are not known to be big spenders.
Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade Lima, who arrived from Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A side Sao Paulo in 2010, has made as many as 65 appearances for the Biancazzuri in all competitions and has also managed to score 21 times.
