Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila was highly linked with Arsenal over the summer transfer window. In fact, the Gunners even had bid rejected for the Frenchman. It has now emerged that the North London side and Real Madrid are the two most likely options for the midfielder.

Rennes rejected four bids for the player from top clubs across Europe during the transfer window, believed to be around the region of £26 million. However, M'Vila's Rennes team-mate and friend Kader Mangane believes that the club will sell the player at the end of the current season, with Real Madrid or Arsenal the likely destinations.

There has been no decision taken so far, Mangane told Goal.com of M'Vila's future. He might go to England but he also likes the Spanish league. I don't think he will leave in January but I think he will join Real Madrid or Arsenal next summer.

The top clubs are right to scout him as I see him with a big career in front of him. Yann has the potential to be one of the biggest players in the world. He has extraordinary abilities.

Elsewhere, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has handed a boost to the Gunners by committing himself to the London club forever.

The 19-year-old is currently recovering from a stress fracture on his ankle and has stepped up his efforts to return to the field with the target of playing by the end of the year.

Wilshere revealed his desire to create something special at Arsenal and when asked whether he would stay with the Gunners for the rest of his career, he had only one answer.

I promise that. I've been at the club since I was nine and learned to love it. From the [Patrick] Vieira days, to (Dennis) Bergkamp, (Cesc) Fabregas, I've watched them come through and move on. There's a crop of new players, (Aaron) Ramsey, myself, Kieran Gibbs. Hopefully we can really create something special. I love the club and I want to be part of its future.
