Arsenal Trying to Convince Valencia for Juan Mata with Cash and Vela?
New reports have suggested that Arsenal are trying to Bring Valencia midfielder Juan Mata to the Emirates Stadium with a deal that will see Arsenal providing both cash and Mexican Carlos Vela on loan.
Previously Juan Manuel Mata Rodriguez, father of the Valencia midfielder, had revealed that Arsenal had an offer for his son which was initially rejected, but believed that the Gunners would still be in the hunt.
Juan Mata, 23, has previously been linked with a move to London with both Arsenal and Tottenham showing interest for the Spaniard.
Vela’s representative Eduardo Hernandez has confirmed that he will be flying to London shortly to finalize ‘things’ with Arsenal. He also added that there have been three offers from Spain for Vela and it may be a good move for Vela himself.
Wenger, however, has ruled out the possibility of Juan Mata coming to the Emirates this summer, but assured that a new center-back will be arriving before the transfer window closes.
"Valencia simply rejected their offer. After some hesitation they answered 'no' to the Gunners' offer," Rodriguez told Italian football news agency calciomercato. "So my son remains a Valencia player, for now. But I don't think it's their last offer.”
Mata has been linked with Arsenal this summer and Wenger was confident of concluding a deal, according to a fanatix report.
Juan Manuel Mata Garcia, started playing for Valencia in 2007. In the 2008 Spanish Supercup, Mata scored against his former club Real Madrid in a 3–2 first leg victory. Mata has made 129 appearances for Valencia and has managed to find the back of the net 33 times.
