Kate Middleton reported to wear Alexander McQueen wedding gown
Several news organizations, including The Telegraph and the Times are reporting that princess-to-be Kate Middleton has chosen a designer for her wedding gown.
Middleton plans to wear a gown by Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton. The Telegraph is reporting that the gown will combine Middleton's and Burton's ideas.
Burton took over as creative director of Alexander McQueen after his tragic suicide. Burton has worked with McQueen for 14 years and has previously designed dresses for Michelle Obama, Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sara Buys.
Burton's work caught Middleton's eye when she designed an off-the-shoulder wedding dress for Sarah Buys, a fashion journalist who married Tom Parker Bowles, the son of the Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.
Burton and the company's chief executive claim that it is untrue that they are designing the dress, but it is likely that they are sworn to secrecy.
Clarence House has refused to confirm or deny the report.
We always knew that there would be a lot of speculation about the appointment of the designer. Because Catherine Middleton is keen to keep this private, we are not responding to this in any way at all, a spokesperson said via The Telegraph.
Middleton will marry Prince William on April 29.
