President Obama made big news yesterday by releasing the long-form of his birth certificate.

He had been dogged for weeks by Donald Trump and other ‘birthers’ who were not satisfied with the short-form certification of live birth he had released on the internet in 2008.

Trump and others claim that it’s not the same thing, requires a lower legal standard, and is of “very little significance,” in Trump’s words.

Now, with his long-form birth certificate released, Obama hoped to put an end to this issue once and for all.

“We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We've got better stuff to do. I've got better stuff to do. We've got big problems to solve. And I'm confident we can solve them, but we're going to have to focus on them – not on this,” said Obama.

So is it over? Not so fast.

Trump was pleased that Obama finally released the birth certificate, patted himself on the back for making it happen, and then aired his doubts.

“I want to look at it… We have to look at it. Is it real? Is it proper? What’s on it?,” said Trump.

Meanwhile, there is a whole book coming out next month that claims to establish the constitutional ineligibility of Obama for the office of the US president.

It is called Where's the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President, by writer Jerome Corsi.

This book was completed before Obama released his birth certificate. Corsi has no plans to update it, so the book won’t discuss Obama’s newly-released birth certificate, according to book’s publisher, who spoke to the Washington Post.

The publisher also said Coris is “deeply suspicious of the authenticity of [Obama's newly-released birth certificate] and believes that we shouldn’t jump to conclusion about it.”
