Jon Bon Jovi Birthday: Singer Defies Old Death Rumor, Turns 50 (PHOTOS)

Jon Bon Jovi turned 50 on Friday after a rollicking year that included at least one death rumor.

A false report, stating that the singer died of cardiac arrest, circulated back in December, setting off an online storm and many an errant tweet.

It was so bad that the rock star posted a photo of himself on Facebook holding a sign that read Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey. The singer is a New Jersey native.

Bon Jovi -- who is still looking quite swell -- did give in to one aspect of aging: Pain.

To that end, he became a spokesman for Advil.

Pain doesn't have much of a place in my life, he said in a promotional video posted on the Advil website. I check the schedule and it's not on it.
