Ashlee Simpson Dating Evan Ross? Pair Spotted Holding Hands In Public
Ashlee Simpson may have a new love in her life if her recent night out on the town is any indication. The 28-year-old singer and former reality star was spotted leaving the Sunset Marquis Hotel late Monday night hand-in-hand with Evan Ross, the son of Motown icon Diana Ross.
According to the Daily News, after being photographed together at the Sunset Marquis, Evan and Ross, 24, headed to Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel. They were reportedly seen leaving together at 1:30 a.m.
The two were seen together again the following day getting lunch, Us Weekly reported.
Simpson is currently single, after splitting from actor Vincent Piazza of “Boardwalk Empire,” back in November. A source said of Simpson’s split from Piazza that it was mutual and that there were no hard feelings. "There was no bad blood and no third party involved," a source said. "It was honestly just a long distance relationship and it became too hard to make it work."
Simpson was also previously married to Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz, but the couple separated in 2011, three years after they tied the knot. Wentz and Simpson have a son, Bronx, together. Despite the divorce, the pair say that they have stayed amicable for their son.
But although Simpson is unattached, sources close to her say that she and Ross are just friends. "Evan and Ashlee have been friends for a really long time, probably 10 years," a source told Us. "They know each other from the club scene and have tons of mutual friends."
Simpson recently became a two-time aunt when her older sister Jessica gave birth on June 30, to son Ace Knute, with her fiancé, Eric Johnson. Simpson told the publication that the entire family, including her son Bronx, is excited about the new member of their family.
"He is definitely very protective, and he's so excited about every time she's growing," Simpson said of Bronx’s relationship with his baby cousin Maxwell, Jessica Simpson’s first child. "He loves that stuff!"
