Ashlee Simpson Ross' Heartwarming Gender Reveal Gets Unexpected Reaction From Daughter
It's a boy!
Ashlee Simpson Ross and Evan Ross revealed the sex of their unborn child in an adorable family-inclusive gender reveal shared to Instagram on Thursday.
The singer-songwriter, along with her husband and children -- 11-year-old son Bronx from her previous marriage to Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, and 4-year-old daughter Jagger Ross whom she shares with Evan -- gathered around a multi-colored cake that would eventually clue them in on what they are expecting.
"Here we go," Ashlee said as they all held onto a knife and cut the sweet treat. "It's a boy!"
When the cake's blue inside is revealed, everyone begins clapping and celebrating, that is everyone except for Jagger, who just looked at the cake with a blank stare.
"As u can tell Jagger wanted a sis," Evan, the 31-year-old son of legend Diana Ross, explained in his post.
She seemed to cheer up though when the 35-year-old mother-to-be scooped her up daughter and explained, "You're gonna be a big sister!"
Ashlee and Evan married in August 2014 after a seven-month engagement. Since then, the couple has embarked on a number of projects together.
In the summer of 2018, the duo launched their unisex clothing line for Zadig & Voltaire, which they named after their daughter Jagger Snow.
They also briefly had a reality show, "Ashlee + Evan," which aired on E! for six episodes in 2018. The series followed the couple as they balanced family life with working on a joint album, however, the series didn't last long. In September 2019, Ashlee revealed to Us Weekly that there was no Season 2 in the works.
"We are not doing that anymore," she revealed. "We had so much fun doing it, but we’re both working on our own projects and we’re literally there with each other every day."
The singer-songwriter added that they didn't want to have their kids "on TV for too long."
