Ashton Kutcher's Two and a Half Men' challenge: Will it be cheers or jeers?
It has been confirmed that Ashton Kutcher has been tapped to replace Charlie Sheen in the popular television comedy 'Two and a Half Men' but what does it mean for the audience - cheers or jeers?
Kutcher knows what he's up against. I can't replace Charlie Sheen, he says. However, he going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!
'Two and a Half Men' will be Kutcher's first show since he left That '70s Show crew in 2006. There are some doubts whether he can really keep his top audience rating in his new TV series despite the the high expectation from CBS and the producer of the hit show.
“We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family,” said Chuck Lorre, also the show’s executive producer. “Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”
However, Sheen is betting that the show will tank. Enjoy the show, America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB, Sheen mocks in a statement, using the TV lingo to predict the show's doom.
Sheen also had a word of advise for Kutcher. Enjoy planet Chuck....There is no air, laughter, loyalty or love there, he says.
But after the ranting, Sheen reveals that he's man enough to move on. Congrats to the cast and crew ... CBS & WB...My best to @aplusk (Ashton Kutcher)! The show must go on...You got the right guy! he tweets.
Kutcher was also sweet enough to tweet back: #2.5@charliesheen Thank man. Always been a fan, always will be! BTW you were “born big”
What do you think? Is a Sheen-less 'Two and a Half Men' like a flat beer? Or does Kutcher have enough mojo to pull it off?
Also, do you think Sheen should kick off My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option Tour Part 2?
