Ubisoft might be preparing "Assassin's Creed 2020" to be launched on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Scarlett. Ubisoft

Ubisoft has been very discreet about any details associated with “Assassin’s Creed 2020.” We know very little about the next game iteration to the successful “Assassin’s Creed” franchise. However, during the company’s investor’s call, Ubisoft executive shared some interesting release details that give us a hint about its plan for the much-awaited game.

With the imminent arrival of Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett, the gaming industry is very much hyped. Everybody just wants to get a piece of the next-generation technology that these upcoming gaming consoles will offer. And, it appears that Ubisoft is one of them, with plans to optimize “Assassin’s Creed 2020” for next-generation consoles.

At the recent investors' call, Ubisoft Chief Financial Officer Frederick Duguet stated that the company’s first three games would be delayed to be optimized for the next generation gaming consoles. These will be released instead in the first and second quarter of 2021. The CFO also noted that along with these three titles, Ubisoft will release a couple of AAA games from two of its biggest franchises.

The three major games that were already delayed and which the executive is referring to are “Watch Dos Legion,” “Rainbow Six: Quarantine,” and “Gods and Monsters.” As with the two AAA games, one of the biggest franchises of the company is “Assassin’s Creed,” and simple logic will tell us that the gaming studio is pushing the system to the max for “Assassin’s Creed 2020.” Duguet also said that the fiscal year 2021 will boast a solid lineup and will also include the release of “Roller Champions.”

This will not be the first time that Ubisoft launches an “Assassin’s Creed” title on a next-generation gaming console. “Black Flag” was launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and did an impressive job in taking advantage of both the console’s base power levels. At this point, we heard speculations that the next “Assassin’s Creed” game will have a Vikings theme based on an Easter egg found by fans.

Earlier, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shared in an interview that the goal is to make sure that “Assassin’s Creed 2020” or the next “Assassin’s Creed” game will have the “AC: Unity” within “AC: Odyssey.” He added that players could play the “Assassin’s Creed 2020” for 15 long hours if they want.
