'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' Gameplay Footage Shown, Details For PS4, Xbox One Release Revealed At E3 2013 [PHOTOS]
"Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" gameplay footage was shown off at E3 2013 Tuesday. "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" is the next installment in the "Assassin's Creed" series, putting the player in the role of Edward Kenway, a pirate. Players will be thrust into pirate ships and similar settings throughout "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag," which will be released in October for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC. "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One at a later date.
"Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" is an open-world game that takes place in the Caribbean. There will be three major cities for players to explore and 50 locations. The locations include Mayan ruins, underwater landscapes, caves, jungles, beaches and more. Players will be able to customize Kenway's looks, the number of guns he can carry and upgrade the weapons he can tote around.
"Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" players will be able to acquire a hideout to store their gear as the game progresses. Players can acquire wealth by plundering and trading. Africa was revealed as one trade market.
An "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" companion app will launch as well, allowing the player to pull up a map of the game. Gamers who use the app can help their friends as they play through the full version by highlighting in-game objects.
