With most countries on lockdown due to the rise of COVID-19 cases, people are treating this announcement to prevent the spread of the virus, stay healthy and be with their family.
Gamers on the other hand will have all the time in their hands to finally beat that boss, upgrade their characters or try a new title or two. Such is the preparation of Ubisoft as they formally begin the hype surrounding “Assassin's Creed Odyssey” by offering it as a free-to-play game until Sunday.
The developer said that the highly anticipated game will be for on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC starting tomorrow, March 19 until Sunday, March 22. Users can start to pre-load “Assassin's Creed Odyssey” starting today to get their binge game going and to, of course, make use of the time it's being offered for free, said MSN.
Comicbook however advised players that the promo is a free trial and not a free download. In other words, the game will return to its normal pricing at the end of the week. There's a ray of light, though: your progress on the trial will be carried over should you decide to buy the full game.
Just like the rest of the “Assassin's Creed” lineage over the years, “Odyssey” is set to pack all the bells and whistles of its predecessors and much more. Gamers will choose between Alexios or Kassandra and will venture into an open-world amidst the famed Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta.
Through Kotaku's Jason Schreier, Comicbook reported that “Assassin's Creed Odyssey” will be released sometime between April 2020 and March 2021.
