'Assassin’s Creed Valhalla' Creative Director Shares Sneak Peek Of In-Game Viking Settlement
The creative director for the game “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” shared an initial shot of what players can get from the game. Ashraf Ismail tweeted an image that showed the settlement which—according to reports—would also feature a cat.
According to IGN, the image is that of a Viking settlement, surrounded by the lush green of a forest. There is a lake in the middle, and fish are being hung out to dry. The image was, according to the tweet, of a settlement in England, and invited people to “spend a lazy Sunday” at the docks, doing Viking things—consulting the war chief and checking on the people in the village.
Eivor, the main character of the game, will allegedly have some down time in the game. The aforementioned cat, meanwhile, can be seen prowling near the rack of drying fish to the left. This seems to be an indication of animals in the game, which could in turn be a sign that a pet system may be included in it. This, however, hasn’t been confirmed so far.
Meanwhile, Gamespot reported that a fan-favorite move makes its way back into the game. Ismail also revealed that the insta-kill hidden blade will make an appearance in the game once again. The hidden blade can kill any enemy instantly—regardless of who they are—in a swift move with a single hidden blade.
It was once available in every game, but it has been included “with restrictions” in recent titles. Ismail explained that this was part of their plans for Valhalla. In a search for uniqueness and identity for the game, he said, they started to look back to the past games and identify formulas and properties which made them great.
This could be part of Ismail’s grand plan for the game. He also said that the settlement is a key feature of the game. The team at Ubisoft aims to put the feeling of “home” into players, making them feel like killing and pillaging isn’t the only activity that they can do.
