'Assassin’s Creed Valhalla' Gives Players New Season Pass Including ‘The Legend Of Beowulf’
The German Ubisoft store gave fans of the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise a sneak peek into the “Valhalla’s” DLCs and missions. The Season Pass of the game will reportedly include a story mission that will be based on “The Legend of Beowulf”.
This news was first spotted on Twitter. The tweet, according to IGN, was in German containing information on the story mission. Reports said that the translation of the German texts read, “Includes the story mission: The Legend of Beowulf.” Beowulf is an Old English epic poem, an interesting storyline to be added to the new mission.
The epic centers on the hero Beowulf, a warrior who went to help the Danish King Hrothgar face off against an evil monster called Grendel. The battle was set in Scandinavia, where the game's setting is. This makes sense to draw on the rich English literature to help create a believable world where the titular Assassin lives.
Another bonus mission in the story is “The Way of the Berserker.” This story becomes available for people who pre-order the game ahead of its launch, provided that it isn’t delayed by shipment cancellations because of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to reports, the season pass will “expand experiences with new content, lands, and gear.”
According to the Ubisoft page, players will be thrust in the shoes of the Viking raider Eivor. The story also covers Norway and expands into ninth-century England. The game also features a story-rich, beautifully-developed open world where players can face off against tough enemies, go on Viking raids and build up their new settlement in a strange, foreign land while strengthening new alliances.
The game will feature a few historical places. Viking raids were common in ninth-century England and the land was torn between warring kingdoms and lords. The gameplay seems to borrow a little from the system of “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag,” where players took on the role of an Assassin pirate who went on sea raids and piracy.
