Ubisoft has rolled out a new limited-time event dubbed the Sigrblot Festival in "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla." Based on a new report, this prepares the game and its fans for the much-awaited Siege of Paris update.
A recent report from Screenrant said the "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" Sigrblot Festival, which commences the raiding season, has a direct link to the Siege of Paris expansion. The report also claimed that during the event, players can hear NPCs talking about the situation that includes a dialogue saying, "The plunder there is of such finery that Norse has ravaged the land up to the very gates of Paris."
Moreover, the report cited a letter claiming the Frankish Army is spread thin while encouraging the Norse to strike right away. There are also more dialogues and letters talking about the Frankish Emperor Charles who, according to the report, has been officially confirmed to be a part of the Siege of Paris DLC.
Ubisoft's manner of introducing the limited-time event seemingly supports this claim. "Revansthorpe is alive with activity. The long days bring with them the start of raiding season," the in-game intro says. "All successful raids begin with proper planning, practice, and prayer to the gods so they may favor you when the time comes."
The Sigrblot is a Norse holiday, which signals the start of the summer. It is also a time when people celebrate, plan and make sacrifices to Odin in hopes of getting blessings during their summer raids and travels. The Sigrblot Festival in "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" runs from Jul. 29 to Aug. 19.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft officially announced the release date of the next major DLC coming to the game. According to the video game developer, The Siege of Paris expansion will debut on Aug. 12. The full details of the next major expansion have not been revealed yet, but it has been confirmed that players will go to the kingdom of Francia and infiltrate the city of Paris.
"Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" is playable on various gaming platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
